Straight from the warehouses and side streets of Morrocco, Anuschka has found a variety of Berber carpets in bold hues. The word Berber refers to a style of weaving traditionally done by the Berber tribes of North Africa. That looped style is what gives Berbers their name but the colors and designs have flowered well beyond tradition and entered into the realm of modern art. Swaths of indigo, violet and fucscia in asymmetric patterns. Black and white designs that appear hand drawn by masters of the loom. It’s impossible to generalize beyond saying these are masterpieces meant to be walked upon.
