Insprired: Runway to Interior

In honor of New York Fashion Week starting today, it only seemed appropriate to do a post on bringing the runway trends into the home. While it's not always the best idea to completely redo your home every time a new trend comes out, it can be fun to incorporate small items to keep your humble abode up-to-date. Take a peek below at some of the trends that you can find in pieces at BLOOM.

WHITE SHAG FUR

[ Chloe Pre-Fall 2015 ] [ Tibetan Fur Pillows ]

Several of the runways in 2014 were showing many 70's inspired pieces. While faux fur has been back in style for a few years now, the white shag is making its own comeback. This trend can be easily incorporated with a rug or a few pillows scattered through your home - just like the two shown above that we carry at BLOOM.

GREEK FRET

[ Versace Spring 2015 ] [ Gotham Pillows ]
While the Greek fret is generally found on more permanent surfaces, such as tile or trim, it can also be found on more accessory-type pieces.  Incorporating print trends is done well with neutral colors - shown above on both the Versace runway and pillows from our website.

STARK WHITE

[ Left: Zuhair Murad Spring 2015 Couture ] [ Right: Luis Carvalho Spring/Summer 2015 ] [ Hollywood Desk ]

The extreme modern, stark white look has been popular with interiors for quite some time. However, it's not everyone's style to have your entire home look like a fresh palate without much warmth. But, adding in a few pieces here and there can add some modern touches to your current space. This beautiful, white desk can be found on our website.

BRIGHT POPS OF COLOR

[ Chanel Spring 2015 Couture ] [ Wafer Pillow ] [ Hudson Pillow ] [ Orange Overdyed Pillow ]

Brighten up your neutral space with some bright, solid color pillows. As shown above, pillows are a great and easy way to incorporate current trends without having to do a complete overhaul of your space. Bright pops of color as seen on the Chanel runway are a great way to liven up any space.

 BRIGHT MULTI-COLOR STRIPES

[ Christian Dior Spring 2015 ] [ Giacomo Hand Towels ] [  Othello Towel Collection ]

Very similar to bright pops of color, incorporating bright, multi-color stripes is best done in an area that's more neutral or only has one or two main colors. Towels are another great way to integrate a trend. Keep a bathroom basic with colors and occasionally change out towels and accessories to keep it updated.
