Tanzanite is quite possibly the rarest gemstone on earth. Found in only one place on earth, the hills of Merelani in northern Tanzania at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, this stone is highly prized not only for its rarity but also the amazing color and clarity. This fantastic wide formed band bracelet features some amazing specimens of polished tanzanite, set in 14k gold and accented with a pave diamond surround. The background of the bracelet is overlaid with an expertly woven together cover of seed pearls. The cuff is also adorned with a row of pave diamonds set in oxidized silver on each outer edge. It is backed in a sheet of 14k gold covering and protecting the settings of each stone. The backing flaunts a jali work design, a style of metalwork indicative of Indian craftsmanship, reminiscent of chrysanthemums. The bracelet is hinged with a tab insert clasp making it easy to put on using only one hand.
