The Kitchen is a family of restaurants that has grown to eight locations since the original community bistro opened in Boulder, CO in 2004.  The Kitchen Denver, the sister restaurant of The Kitchen Boulder, was the second location to open, followed by The Kitchen Fort Collins and The Kitchen Chicago. The Kitchen Denver first opened its doors to the community in March of 2012.

The Kitchen Denver menu reflects simple and straightforward preparation of comfortable classics using local and seasonal ingredients.  Guests have often described The Kitchen as a “home away from home” dining experience as the comfortable atmosphere and friendly staff provide a space where community can gather to enjoy great food, drink and company.  Our handcrafted community tables are situated in the center of both the Chef’s Room and the Wine Room. Lighting designer and original co-founder of The Kitchen, Jen Lewin, believes that The Kitchen reflects a safe haven for guests. “In a home, a kitchen is the most important architectural space.  It’s where everyone gathers.”

The Kitchen Denver is in the Sugar Building, built downtown in 1906 as the headquarters of the Great Western Sugar Company (listed on the National Register of Historic Places). The Kitchen co-founders are delighted that their first restaurant in Denver is located in a building originally dedicated to food.
